Vintage oversized tags with Ruby Rock -It |Alicia Barry|

This week I thought I would try something a little different. I decided to make some tags instead of cards. The more I thought about what I wanted to include on them, the more I realised that it was time to go big. These are not your everyday gift tags. They are each 9 inches tall and 4 inches wide.

I included lots of layers, and textured and details, and tried to showcase the Bella florals as central to my theme.

I used Faded Empire, picking out the papers with blue tonings. I fussy cut butterfies from a second sheet of the paper and used the journaling tags paper for my bottom layers.

I used corrugated card stock in white along with white card stock, white doilies and white flowers to distinguish between my many layers.

I added twine and bling for contrasting texture.

I accentuated the florals with die cut leaves made from the same paper collection.

Monkey Art

Today I have another Heartfelt Creations project to share using the Monkeying Around collection. For this card, I made use of the pre printed images that come as part of the paper collection. This is a great option if you are short of time, or maybe for beginners who are not so confident with their colouring yet.

I did add in some stamped images to bulk out my design. The lighter leaves are stamped and inked, and the thin leaves are actually from the top of the palm tree stamp.  This was combined with hand cut pre- printed leaves to create foliage with depth and dimension.

There is lots more to see on the blog of course, including a new video on how to create stamped backgrounds. Check it out here

Heartfelt Double Share

For some reason my blog post for last week didn't go live, but that just means that I now have a double dose of Heartfelt Creations for you today.

First up is a card with a bit of a monochrome theme to it.

For this next one, I once again went with the pink tones fort hr dogwoods. I love the green touch in the flower centres. For my cluster, I used one of the floral images to stamp the background and then used it as a template to fill in the cluster. I think it worked out quite well.

Voting is currently underway for the new applicants for the design team. Be sure to check the blog for details on how to cast your vote. It is always fun to see some new styles. While there, you can also get a sneak peek of the new collection being released next week. I know that in Australia this past weekend, some lucky class participants got to work with this collection before it's actual release. I hope they know how lucky they are.
