Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations.

It's time for a new round of projects from Heartfelt Creations to get you ready for those who like to get ready for Christmas early. This is a wonderful collection to help you get started on beautiful Christmas cards, although I noticed someone on the Heartfelt blog last week asking about layout ideas, so I thought I would do just that.

There's only a couple of weeks left until the new collection is released. You can see a sneek peek of it over on the blog.

Heartfelt Christmas

Today I have another card to share, created with the new Celebrate the Season collection from Heartfelt Creations.  The sleigh is a large stamp with matching die. The presents are all individual stamps and dies also, giving you lots of possibilities.

Maureen Russell has made a really beautiful banner this week using this collection. Check it out on the blog here, along with lots of inspiration from the whole design team.

Heartfelt Christmas in July - Celebrate the Season

It is so strange to have been working on Christmas projects for the last month already, although at least I am doing it in the Summer weather which feels far more normal to me, even if I am working with snowy images.

The Christmas collection for Heartfelt Creations this year is a really pretty combination of blues and purples and quite a change from  the traditional colour scheme which is always nice once in a while.

Here is a little more about the collection:

The time has come to once again “Celebrate the Season” with Heartfelt Creations!  Non-traditional in color, this new holiday themed collection showcases an assortment of exceptional winter hues…shades of teals, pinks, greens and violets resembling the northern lights, whites as crisp as freshly fallen snow and ice blues mimicking frozen ponds beneath the blades of gently gliding ice skates.  Four fanciful cling stamp sets filled with old fashioned themed illustrations of ornate sleighs, wooden gates, gifts, skates, mittens, and simple wreaths filled with poinsettias and greenery, along with an assortment of charming sentiments will bring feelings of nostalgia from Christmas past to all of your crafty creations while being paired with the contemporary color palette of Christmas present.  Three coordinating sets of dies will have you creating your very own dimensional embellishments perfect for holiday cards, layouts and altered art pieces.  Join us as we “Celebrate the Season” and get an early start to all of our holiday themed creating.

Here is my first project for the month, using the pretty new poinsettia flowers. These are smaller than previous ones we have had and come in two different sizes for perfect layering.

Check out the blog for lots more including some projects with the new sleigh stamp and die cut. It's really pretty. I'll have projects to share with it over the coming weeks.

One last Orchid

Today I am sharing my last Botanic Orchid project for Heartfelt Creations before a brand new collection release next week. I noticed that a few of the other designers has been playing with using the orchid petals in different ways, so i thought that I would have a try myself. I also had a bit of a play using my new Distress crayons to add the colours to the petals. I really like how I could blend the colours with my fingers right on the petal itself.

I layered all the petals of the same shape instead of mixing the two, then used the other shape all crinkled up as buds. Adding stamens to the flower centres also gave the flower a very different loo to the orchids.

Some classic foliage behind the flowers really added to the clusters, while some glass glitter made the petals all shiny.

Over on the blog, Dorota Kopec, who is one of our new design team members, has been using the Heartfelt products in quite a different way. Her blog is well worth a look.
