This month, we are celebrating all things spring. We moved to our current house 6 months ago in the middle of the Californian drought, and our yard was less that inspirational. It was little more than dirt and dust. With a bit of luck, we have had some rain, and we have been surprised with two amazing rose bushes, that over the last two weeks, have given us dozens of the biggest and prettiest roses we've ever seen. Even the grass is green again.  This layout shows just a tiny snippet of what is blooming.

I used a background sheet from the wood collection, and teamed it with some Faded Empire papers and embellishments.

Berry Sweet project with Heartfelt Creations

Today I have a new card project using the Berry Cafe collection from Heartfelt Creations. How cute is the bee hive image. It comes with a co-ordinating die also, so no fussy cutting. I used a decorative die so it looks like the hive is hanging down.

The strawberry blooms are a favourite, and I will be using those little flowers for a long time to come.

Over on the blog you can watch a new video from Emma Lou, on how to create hydrangea flowers. I can't wait to give this one a try. How good would they look attached to a styrofoam ball as a table centrepiece.

You can also get a little look at the next collection being released soon called Under the Sea. I have a certain little girl having a birthday soon, who is obsessed with mermaids at the moment, so this is really going to come in handy.  While you are there, check out Kathleen's stunning little gift basket.

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Today I have another layout project to share from Heartfelt Creations using Berry Cafe.  I started with a simple background paper and created a big focus using floral die cuts.

Do you see the cute little bumble bee in the top?

We are only just getting started with this collection, and the design team have been creating so many awesome projects this month. Joann is incredible at making three dimensional projects. Check out her ice-cream truck on the blog this week.

Heartfelt Creation new release: Berry Cafe.

Today there is  a brand new release on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

Warm breezes blow, busy bees buzz from blossom to blossom, and perfectly shaped, ripe berries beckon you as you catch a glimpse of them through the vines winding their way up the rickety old picket fence in the picture perfect garden patch.  Bring back fond memories of strawberry picking while the early morning dew still lingered on the vines with the new release by Heartfelt Creations.  The Berry Cafe Collection will have you reminiscing of filling pails until overflowing while playing the game of "two for me" and "one for the pail", which always led to the task taking a tad longer. Travel back in time to the days of your childhood where you shared your first strawberry milkshake, or float at the local ice cream parlor with that special someone you so adored. Filled with sweet illustrations of vining strawberries, adorable children, elegant blossoms, old fashioned strawberry stands as well as delicately patterned papers featuring eyelet prints, soft checks, ornate borders and delicious clusters of strawberries nestled among flowers, you are certain to find yourself warming in the berry patch and hankering for a cold strawberry treat. Happy hues of pinks, reds, yellows, blues and greens create a cheerful color palette that is sure to make your heart sing the songs of summer.  Five extraordinary cling stamp sets allow you to recreate all of the memories of strawberry picking and enjoying the fruit from the vine.  Color and shape your way to a lush and productive garden plot where blossoms and fruit abound, being careful to avoid the ever busy bees.  After all of the toiling and care, reap your rewards, head on over to the fruit stand where anxious passerby’s will be ready to invest in your delicious crop...and once the day is done, grab a friend and treat yourselves to that special strawberry flavored treat with a generous helping of whipped topping! We present to you the ideal collection to welcome summer!

This is such a pretty and sweet collection with a vintage twist, and features one of my summery favourite colour schemes. It also comes with a sweet little blossom set, that will be so versatile for all kinds of collections.

I have started with a fairly simple card using die cut images from the pre-printed images that come with the paper collection. I am so glad that Heartfelt started doing this. It makes making simple cards so quick and simple, and is a less intimidating option for those people who are either new to colouring or are just not that into it.

Over on the blog you can see a new video from Emma Lou, with some tips on hand colouring your stamped images. Of course you can also see lots of card samples up close both on the blog and in the video, including this one of mine.

Good times tag with Heartfelt Creations

It's time for another Heartfelt Creations project using Winking Frogs. This week I decided to make something a bit different and make a tag. I always admire these when I see other people make the, but have only made a fe myself. I really enjoyed putting this one together. It is quite large, and might make a nice feature on a layout, or might even look nice on the wall in a black frame. In fact these frogs would be a great theme for decor for a little boy room.

This is the last week using this collection. I really like the lil pads in their collection, they are quite different to anything else I have seen, and I really love the dragonfly (probably even more than the frogs shhh!)

Next week we will be featuring a brand new collection called Berry Cafe, which is super sweet. You can see a little peek of a project idea over on the blog. As always you can also check out lots of beautiful projects from the rest of the very talented team.
