Heartfelt Wednesday Share

This week I have one of my favourite projects to share with you. I'm very pleased with how this one turned out. I started with a timber board from Target that I found for $3. It's almost an inch thick and looks a bit like a chopping board. Here's what it looked like when I started:

I then loaded it up with heaps of gesso, texture paste, microbes, chipboard and paint.

Then  I embellished with beautiful Heartfelt Creations Sunrise Lily papers and handmade lily flowers.

While you are checking out the blog this week, you can see the Design Team semi finalists and cast your vote on who you would like to see on the blog each week. I've spent some time today looking at their blogs and there is some great talent out there. You can vote here

Layout using Sunrise Lily

Today I have a layout to share using Sunrise Lily from Heartfelt Creations that was released last week. Check out my last post for all the details on that. This is such a beautiful collection. I am loving working with it.

I felt like having a bit of a play with a few little techniques to dress up my background for the layout. I used iridescent paint through a stencil, along with shimmer paint. I also used one of the stamps from the collection to add some interest.

The floral sections on this project were all from the pre-printed paper in the collection, and the flowers were super easy to make and blend in perfectly with the printed images.

Here is the link to find all the rest of the projects from the Design Team this week. Everyone always does such a wonderful job, and I always love looking through them all.

Don't forget that there is just a couple of days left to vote on the existing DT members if you can spare a minute. The link for that is here.http://hcgo.co/DesignTeamVoting2016

I can't wait to see who the new DT members might be. I know I have my eye on a few people that would make great additions to the the team.

Valentines Day with Ruby Rock-It |Alicia Barry|

It's almost Valentines day, so I have made a little gift box to celebrate. Rather than start entirely from scratch, I used a store bought box which I then broke down to use as a template. (You could also just re-cover the existing the box if you prefer).

I have used the brand new Faded Empire line for this project, including some co-ordinating die cuts and wood veneers. I added some texture to the background paper using a stencil and some texture paint along with some crackle paint sections.

I fussy cut the main floral image, and then layered up from there using Bella! florals, which I spritzed with iridescent spray. This made them sparkle, and also gave me the opportunity to wrinkle them while wet.

NEW** Sunrise Lily collection rom Heartfelt Creations.

Today is the release of a brand new collection at Heartfelt Creations, and I can say without a doubt that this is my absolute favourite collection from Heartfelt.

First of all, this collection includes a stamp and die set for a brand new flower. The lillies are so pretty, and so very easy to make. They come with the great this cone in the die that helps to make the flower hold it's shape. Such a clever idea. I can see these being useful for lots of other flowers too.  Here's a video from Emma Lou showing you how to create these beautiful flowers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=8&v=Pnu_xqlx060

The next great thing about this collection, is that it includes a page with images that match the die cuts. This means that you can die cut pre-coloured images for super fast projects.

About the collection:
Rich and regal in appearance, along with a divine fragrant beauty and ornamental trumpet shaped blossom makes the lily flower a well known garden variety and a sure sign that spring has sprung.  Heartfelt Creations invites you to prepare to welcome the season of new beginnings, fresh starts and the bursting forth of nature with the new Sunrise Lily Collection. As the title of this assemblage suggests, it is filled with the romantic hues of a beautiful sunrise or sunset...glorious shades of pinks, oranges, and yellows  which also reflect the stunning color palette of the lily blossoms as they appear in the gardens themselves. Ravishing shades of greens, creams and whites bring a crispness and a breath of fresh air just as the spring season itself. Patterned papers reveal regal ornamental iron like scroll work, dainty lace elements and lovely vintage like floral details.  Beautiful imagery of lily filled vases, pretty flower adorned garden hats and luscious floral bouquets grace varying sized card panels, scrapbook layouts and embellishment tags, and are replicated in five sets of delicately detailed stamp illustrations.  The crowning glory to the collection itself is the dimensional lily flower that will add a touch of reality to each of your springtime creations.  So, chase away those winter blues brought on by old man winter, combat spring fever by filling your creative space with a touch of splendor as you begin creating with the Sunrise Lily Collection for the upcoming spring and Easter season.

I have really loved creating with this collection. Here's my first card. I combined a hand coloured flute image with some of the pre-coloured images from the paper collection.

There are many more amazing projects on the blog, be sure to check them all out here.

Also, don't forget that there is a dean team call open at the moment, plus you still have until the 19th to vote on the current design team members to help the company understand what the public want to see on the blog. I would very much appreciate your vote, if you like my work You can do that here.

Heartfelt Creations DT call

First up, I have a layout to share using the Sugar Hollow collection again.  I used one of the new border dies to create the decorative edge along the top and bottom.

I used the Botanical Rose set for the flowers.

On the blog are the details for the next Design Team call. This is a great team to be on. I would highly recommend trying out if you love Heartfelt products.  You can find the details here.

Heartfelt do things a little differently to other teams. For those Dt members wishing to stay on, a public poll is run to see which styles people most want to see more of. This helps to determine who is invited to remain on the team. I'm not very comfortable asking for votes, I really would like to stay on the team, so if you like what I do, I would appreciate your vote. You get to vote for 4 others you like too, plus by voting you will go into the draw for a $50 gift voucher.

The voting only takes a minute to do. Just follow the link here: http://hcgo.co/DesignTeamVoting2016
